So it can accommodate acidic foods without damage, the Crown Steam EL-30 steam kettle's interior and exterior are made of durable stainless steel. The compartment between the interior and exterior is filled with distilled water, and this jacket covers the lower ²⁄₃ of the kettle. By surrounding the food with heat, it cooks without scorching.
