Southbend KDCT-20 Description
The Southbend KDCT-20 direct steam kettle has a durable stainless steel construction and 20-gallon capacity. It has a steam jacket around the lower two-thirds of the kettle's body, though because this unit uses direct steam, an external source is needed to fill the jacket. For even heat distribution, the bottom of the kettle has a hemispheric design, and the 316 stainless steel liner is made to handle acidic product without rusting. Tubular stainless steel legs conceal the steam supply and condensate return pipes. To ensure safe steam levels, a steam control valve is fitted on the right leg.
Tilt mechanism bearings enable the user to tilt the kettle past 90 degrees, using an operating handle that can be mounted on the left or right. This full tilt, along with the rounded bottom, keeps the kettle easy to wipe clean, and to save floor space, this Southbend KDCT-20 direct steam kettle sits on a countertop.
