Hobart FD4/50-4 Description
So food waste can be discarded down the drain, the Hobart FD4/50-4 garbage disposer can be implemented beneath a commercial kitchen sink to grind solid product down to a drainable size. This unit is equipped with a 3⁄4-horsepower motor and a stationary shredder ring lined with four machine-ground, primary-action breaker bars and 42 secondary-action grinding teeth. Its flywheel is equipped with a center-mounted breaker blade that expedites grinding while preventing foods from riding at its center. If contents get jammed in the flywheel, users can manually adjust the flywheel rotation's direction. This 63⁄16-inch-diameter Ni-Resist flywheel features two hardened, replaceable stainless steel cutter blocks that can be indexed for new cutting edges.
For connection to a 11⁄2-inch drain trap, the Hobart FD4/50-4 food waste disposer is equipped with a chrome-plated brass tailpiece. This 7-inch-diameter by 223⁄4-inch-tall unit is built with a long upper housing that can fasten to a 7-inch I.D. throat-opening cone. To minimize disruptive vibrations and noise, its vinyl isolating ring prevents metal-to-metal contact at the cone-mounting area. For an extended service life through rigorous use, its grind and discharge housings are heavy aluminum, while its ball bearings are permanently lubricated.
