Hobart FD4/200-2 Description
By grinding food waste into small particles that can be drained, the Hobart FD4/200-2 commercial garbage disposer eliminates the need for expensive liners and labor. Its 11⁄4-horsepower, continuous-duty motor a continuous-duty, 2-horsepower motor's manual-reset thermal overload protection mechanism helps prevent motor damage through frequent use, while its permanently lubricated ball bearings streamline operation. For effective grinding and cutting, its stationary shredder ring features 40 abrasion-resistant, heat-treated cast ductile iron grinding teeth. The 8-inch-diameter flywheel is built with two hardened ductile iron cutter blocks that can be replaced and indexed for new cutting edges. So grinding components don't become damaged during a jam, operators can change the flywheel's rotational direction.
A medium-volume unit, the Hobart FD4/200-2 commercial food waste disposer measures 141⁄4 inches in diameter by 273⁄8 inches high and can be fastened to a 7-inch I.D. throat-opening cone beneath a commercial sink. To minimize vibration and noise transmission during use, a vinyl isolating ring prevents metal-to-metal contact at the cone's mounting area. This unit's heavy ductile iron upper housing and powder-coated, primed ductile gray cast iron lower housing are rigid enough to endure daily use. To ensure the housing has sturdy support, operators can adjust the tubular stainless steel legs' flanged feet by 3 inches.
