The heavy-duty stainless steel drawer-style base of the Hoshizaki SR27B-8D2 prep table offers high-capacity storage, as the top drawer can hold a 12-inch by 20-inch full-size pan and two fourth-size pans. Additionally, the bottom section is ideal for one full-size pan. This configuration offers space to hold additional items, such as meat, cheese, and produce to quickly replenish the top section as needed. These drawers remain stable using 16-gauge stainless steel drawer frames and slides that hold a 175-pound capacity, and the drawers are opened using recessed aluminum handles. Because the entire base is made of stainless steel, this unit is simple to wipe down and clean as needed. The prep table is set on four 6-inch casters that enable movement around kitchen configurations.

This prep table features a top compartment designed to fit shipped pans. A total of eight sixth-size durable polycarbonate pans fit inside, which is ideal for holding precut produce items like tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and other selections. This unit comes supplied with a ¹/₂-inch-thick cutting board made of polyethylene, which is intended for use when making large sandwiches and subs. To upkeep food-safety conditions, this unit is fitted with a simple-to-use cover that's hinged for fluid use.

The Hoshizaki SR27B-8D2 sandwich and salad prep table utilizes a reinforced air system that moves along the pans, maintaining set temperatures between 32 to 52 degrees Fahrenheit. Its self-contained capillary tube system uses R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant, which can withstand ambient temperatures at 100 degrees Fahrenheit. During intense operation, the installed time-initiated defrost system uses heat to minimize freezing to the evaporator. Its flexible, front-breathing design's zero-clearance requirement eases installation in most settings.
