Vulcan VMCS-201 Description
Designed to fit on top of a griddle, the Vulcan VMCS201 heavy-duty electric griddle top features an anodized aluminum arm that presses down onto food to reduce its cook time. When not in use, the arm stays upright with a one-handed lift mechanism. Even when the arm is being used, half of the 10.4-inch-wide by 22.9-inch-deep steel plate is open for cooking. Good for sporadic use, it uses a 0.56-inch-thick grooved steel griddle plate heated by highly efficient, flat bar heating elements, and its temperature can be adjusted from 200 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. An on/off switch and LED indicator lights alert the operator when the griddle is in use.
Though the Vulcan VMCS201 electric griddle top is separate from a full griddle, it's geared to work with common commercial griddle components. Its front, top, and sides are made of stainless steel for durability, and the silver exterior matches common griddle materials. Standard griddles with a front grease trough and a 6-inch-tall backsplash fit nicely with the arm. A Teflon mounting kit and two sheets come with the unit to improve its nonstick surface; a plate gap adjustment accessory (GADJUST-VCMS) is included.
