With a 48-quart (12-gallon) capacity, the Groen TDHC-48C tilting steam kettle is designed for batch cooking. Unlike stockpot ranges, this unit provides even heat distribution to all the product and does not require much cooking experience. Self-contained steam is generated by heated water and flows into the jacket, which surrounds the lower two-thirds of the body. The temperature is regulated by the control knob, featuring 10 levels that operate within a range from 150 to 295 degrees Fahrenheit. A thermostat regulates heat, turning the burners on and off based on the temperature in the kettle and the set level.

Users can empty cooked food into a 4-inch-deep pan placed under the tilted kettle body, and a pouring lip directs the contents into it without creating messes on the countertop. The tilt motion is controlled by a hand lever, which can be mounted on the right or left side. The kettle is constructed of stainless steel, with a welded, one-piece construction, so it resists rusting and provides durability for high-volume use. A mounting bracket, included with this Groen TDHC-48C tilting steam kettle, supports an additional faucet to provide a constant supply of water for recipes and cleaning.
