"This item has a number of problems. I selected the item because it had the clamp to secure to the counter and I did not want a permanent fixture. The clamp slides in and out freely and works it's way out after a few uses and must be reset. The amount of force required to flip the handle up and down is beyond excessive. The amount of force to rotate the handle to operate the opener is also excessive. You have to slam the blade down with a lot of force otherwise it pops out once you start turning the handle. These problems combine to make the opener messy, frustrating, and nearly useless. I have used many other openers like this and this is the only one I have seen with these problems. You're better off with a standard hand held can opener for a small fraction of the cost. The hardware was not sufficiently torqued and a nut fell off after light use. My request for an exchange was denied by Katom. Stay away from the product and be wary of this vendor because your satisfaction is NOT guaranteed when shopping with Katom."
