Unlike with Camshelving® Elements and Basics Plus shelving units, which require operators to attach the dovetails to the posts during field assembly, this Cambro CPU246064S4480 Camshelving Premium starter shelving unit's dovetails are molded to the posts. Its two post kits ship factory assembled, and eight adjustable traverses are included so users have all the components to build this 60-inch-wide by 24-inch-deep by 64-inch-high structure. This shelving system features four solid polypropylene shelf plates that support as much as 800 pounds each; to preserve the unit's structural integrity, it should not be loaded with more than 2,000 pounds. The shelves' rigid, flat surfaces catch spills from leaky items, prevent linens from becoming creased, and ensure small or irregularly shaped products are stored securely. When new inventory is added, operators can adjust the traverses to reposition the shelves along the posts to create sufficient storage space.

The Cambro CPU246064S4480 starter shelving unit's shelves are made of polypropylene, and the steel posts and traverses are coated with polypropylene. This material resists rust and corrosion and is safe in temperatures between -36 and 190 degrees Fahrenheit, so the unit can be stored in common storage spaces. To ensure products are stored safely, the shelves are impervious to saltwater and harsh chemicals and won't sustain damage from food acids and moisture. They can be wiped clean or removed and run through a dishmachine if more thorough sanitizing is needed. Between these cleanings, Camguard® antimicrobial protection hinders bacterial and fungal growth that otherwise could spread odors and stains.
