Compatible with standard commercial storage areas, this Cambro CPU244872VS4480 Camshelving® Premium starter shelving unit endures temperatures from -36 to 190 degrees Fahrenheit. Because its steel posts and traverses have a polypropylene coating and its shelves are constructed of polypropylene, they resist rust and corrosion in humid environments, such as dishrooms and kitchens. All four shelving tiers resist damage from moisture, saltwater, harsh chemicals, and food acids, and they're treated with antimicrobial protection, which hinders bacterial and fungal growth that otherwise could form stains or malodors. When needed, the shelves can be wiped clean or sanitized in a dishmachine.

Part of the Camshelving Premium series, the Cambro CPU244872VS4480 starter shelving unit is more durable than Cambro's Camshelving Basics Plus and Elements shelving series. Its four shelving tiers feature one solid and three vented shelf plates; each shelf has an 800-pound capacity, but loading more than 2,000 pounds on this unit could weaken its strength. Linens, leak-prone goods, and small or oddly shaped objects can be stored on the solid shelf's flat surface, and air can pass through the vented shelves' slots to reach perishables directly for improved airflow. As inventory changes, the traverses that support the shelves can be adjusted along the unit's 72-inch-tall posts to ensure new products have sufficient storage space. Though this unit ships unassembled, it's simpler to set up than the Elements and Basics Plus series because its dovetails are built into the preassembled post kits.
