The shelves' flat, gapless surfaces measure 48 inches wide by 24 inches deep and accommodate 800 pounds, though this unit shouldn't be loaded with more than 2,000 pounds overall. The shelves can be adjusted along the posts as inventory changes to provide sufficient space for new products. To protect stored items from damage, the shelves are made of corrosion-resistant polypropylene and contain an antimicrobial protection agent that inhibits fungal and microbial growth between cleanings. The shelves can be removed, wiped clean, and washed in a dishmachine as needed.

Traverses, molded-in dovetails, and a preassembled post kit are included with the Cambro CPA244864S4480 add-on shelving unit so it can be fastened to a Premium starter shelving unit in a straight line or in L, U, and T shapes.
