The Paderno 12511-24 saucepan is constructed of 18/10 stainless steel, which contains 10 percent nickel, so it can regularly come in contact with salty and acidic foods without rusting. These surfaces have been polished for an elevated appearance, and this saucepan's three-layer construction provides heat conductivity. An aluminum core warms quickly, and the surrounding stainless steel keeps heat afterwards. Sides have a flared edge to reduce dripping and messes, while rivets keep the pan’s handle secure for precise handling.

"The pan is hefty and feels quite sturdy with the riveted handle. The 5 quart capacity is perfect for my larger cooking needs and I wanted this size pan with a handle. I also bought this pan because it has a wider base diameter than my other pans of similar capacity and the base covers the stove burner area much better than my other pans. It heats much better and faster as the heat just doesn't run up around the outside at higher stove power/gas settings. I could use a 5 quart saute pan which also has a wider base diameter but then has lower sides and on stirring spills over the sides much easier. It is just a nice size handled pan and also cleans up nicely."
