Winco SP76DS Description
The Winco SP76DS sixth-size Poly-Ware™ food pan drain shelf is designed for use with small food pans that hold fresh ingredients. By storing fruits and vegetables on top of this drain shelf, chefs can keep produce fresh longer than in conventional food pans since moisture can drain and collect beneath the shelf. Resisting shattering if drop, the unit is made of durable polycarbonate.

Why so small
"At 4" x 4.5" this is still 1/2" smaller than a 1/6 pan bottom. Does nothing to keep the food off the bottom and drained. (The Winco and Update drain shelf are identical. Bought one of each as samples)"

Food pan drain shelves are made a bit smaller than the internal dimensions of the pans themselves so they can be easily lowered into the pans and removed. They are meant to be used with solid foods such as lettuce and other produce.
