By supplying continuous hot water to bain maries and food rethermalizers, this Hatco FR-6 water heater ensures safe heating and holding temperatures. This dual-reservoir unit features a permanently submerged heating element for maximal heat transfer with water, and the water temperature controls let employees adjust temperatures from 140 to 190 degrees Fahrenheit to accommodate changing heating and holding requirements. Water circulates continuously to minimize cool spots that could impact results, while its correlating indicator light will illuminate to notify users once water preheats. If temperatures rise above the programmed heating range unexpectedly, the energy cutoff mechanism shuts down the heating system to prevent damage.

To simplify mounting into a holding tank, the Hatco FR-6 bain marie heater includes standard 2-inch plated brass plumbing fittings. This 7³/₄-inch-wide by 16⁷/₈-inch-deep by 12¹/₄-inch-high unit is compatible with bain maries as long as 6 feet, and for proper installation, it requires a perforated water baffle that is sold separately. Incoming water containing more than 3 grains of hardness per gallon must be treated and softened before supplying this heater with water to maximize efficiency. To simplify cleaning, its sump compartment traps and collects soil and can be plumbed to an open-sight waste drain. With its rust- and corrosion-resistant stainless steel front and hammertone silver-gray body, this heater is resilient enough to withstand heavy-duty use in fast-paced kitchens.
