Because its heated shelf is encased, the Metro HS1848-EKIT enclosed shelf kit can extend holding periods while protecting stored contents from contaminants. A pair of sliding doors built onto the front and two hinged doors built onto the back create a seamless pass-thru system that reduces operator and customer contact. The doors' clear polycarbonate design provides clarity for a view of contents being held, which can boost impulse buys. To slow the growth of mildew, mold, and bacteria between cleanings, the door handles are treated with effective Microban® antimicrobial technology, and for a sleek yet utilitarian presentation, this 487/10-inch-wide by 217/10-inch-deep by 172/5-inch-high case features two powder-coated side panels.
Inside the Metro HS1848-EKIT shelf kit, a 4815/16-inch-wide by 185/8-inch-deep heated shelf accommodates food pans, wrapped products, to-go orders, and pizza boxes. Its stainless steel surface resists rust and corrosion and is smooth so it can be wiped clean. Operators can adjust the surface's temperatures to 200 degrees Fahrenheit with the thermostatic control to ensure precision when warming products. For uniform heat distribution, its low-wattage foil elements are adhered to an aluminum diffuser that directs hot air toward the shelf's surface. Products that don't require warming, such as cutlery, napkins, and condiments, can be displayed on the unit's non-heated top shelf.
