Pass thru refrigerators are simply refrigerators with both front and back doors. By having doors on both the front and back of a refrigeration unit, you can reach any product quickly. These refrigerators create a more efficient work flow by minimizing the amount of time you spend walking around the refrigerator to place and pull out products.
A wide variety of shelving, pan, and tray configurations are available to meet the needs of even the most demanding business. The convenience of pass-thru refrigeration is available in 1-3 sections and 1-3 full or 2-6 half glass or solid doors. These units range from 23-78.7 cubic feet to store as little or much as possible.
Pass thru refrigeration systems are available in either top or bottom mounted units. Top mounted units allow maximum storage because the refrigeration system is out of the food zone. These type of units also extend the life span of your compressor because there are no ventilation problems that would make the compressor have to work unnecessarily hard. Since the refrigeration system is located on top of the unit, the warm air from your kitchen will also rise to the top of the room, which will cool the air temperature in that area.
Bottom mounted units offer the benefit of "no stoop" storage. Since the refrigeration system is located on the bottom of the unit, the products are stored higher, preventing the strain of bending down to reach the food. There can also be additional storage on top of the refrigerator since the refrigeration system is not located there.
