Here at KaTom, we pride ourselves on foresight and our commitment to embracing new ways to work with our customers. Back in 2001, we realized that meeting our customer’s needs meant taking our business online and pioneering the idea of restaurant equipment sales through ecommerce. So, we did just that.

The launch of KaTom.com was met with quite a bit of industry skepticism but over the years, it has become the standard. In June, Google recognized us for our journey to the web and the unique ways we have capitalized on the immense resources the company provides.

Through the use of Google’s tools and the efforts of our dedicated team, we have seen exponential growth in restaurant equipment wholesale. Because of online technology, today we can provide our customers with product information, videos, images, reviews, guides, and the ability to purchase products in a matter of seconds.

It’s difficult for busy food service business owners to schedule appointments or trek down to a brick and mortar location to purchase their restaurant equipment and we get that. The restaurant equipment industry demands attention to timeliness and requires an abundance of varied products to meet very specific needs. Having this information in an ecommerce format allows us to offer a greater variety for our consumers.

Katom.com has allowed us to positively impact the Tennessee economy as we have grown from 11 employees to over 80, and reach consumers across the nation and world. According to the Google economic report, 97% of internet users look online for local products and services and that is just where we are happy to meet them. While our online presence has certainly brought us a long way, we predict there is much economic growth to come.

When speaking with Google representatives, our CEO Patricia Bible explained that, “Through our website we can show that we can handle larger jobs. . . . The web allows us to sell not just a product, but our entire brand.” Because of this, we have had the opportunity to expand our offerings tremendously and continue to provide our customers with the exact products they need while making a greater economic impact.

Google’s inclusion and highlighting of KaTom Restaurant Supply is another reminder that we are on the right track. Whether it be an in-person meeting, one of our helpful customer service representatives taking a call, or reaching out through our ever-evolving website, we at KaTom remain guided by the truth that, “It’s all about you.”
