Commercial microwave ovens are more powerful than home-type ovens and use higher wattages to guarantee faster cooking and defrosting. The advanced heat distribution system evenly reheats foods, minimizing the risk of "cold spots" that can ruin a meal.

Types of Microwaves

Touchpad

Touchpad microwaves are programmable, with between 10-100 menu options to ensure proper and even cooking and heating each time. Programmable controls allow an easy start and are very energy efficient.

Dial

Dial microwave ovens have to be manually set on the time limit for the specific food you are cooking or heating.These type of commercial microwaves have up to a 6 minute timer for varying food products.

Power

There are six different power settings for microwaves. Each power setting can be used for different applications depending on the amount and type of food you will be using in this commercial microwave. 

1000 Watts

Microwaves that have 1000 Watts of cooking power are ideal for small, limited use items.These microwave ovens are most frequently used in waitress stations, cafeterias, dessert stations, vending areas, and convenience stores.

1200 Watts

1200 Watt microwaves are perfect for slightly larger applications and are typically used in fast food chains, casual dining, and busy vending areas.

1600 Watts

Microwave ovens that have 1600 Watts of power are great for heating food rapidly and defrosting safely and quickly.These units are most frequently used in heavy duty, high volume applications such as large restaurants or cafeterias.

1700 Watts

1700 Watt microwaves are more powerful and can be used for bulk food reheating.These microwaves are commonly used in high volume chains, cafeterias, family restaurants, institution kitchens, and casual dining areas.

1800 Watts

1800 Watt microwave ovens are slightly more powerful than the 1700 Watt, and can reheat or cook even larger quantities of bulk food. These ovens are generally used in quick service restaurant chains, causal dining areas, and busy, high volume vending sites.

2100+ Watts

These microwaves are the most powerful models offered through KaTom and can be used virtually anywhere due to their high volume cooking and heating capacities.These units are frequently used in high volume chains, popular family restaurants, casual dining businesses, cafeterias, and institution kitchens.
