The Mysterious Food Network Mixing Bowl: Discovered!

I have a slight Food Network addiction and I’m proud about it. Seriously, if you walked into my house at any given time you’d probably hear the voice of Alton Brown or Paula Dean booming in my living room. I’ve learned about so many nifty products and awesome cooking tricks from that channel alone that I couldn’t begin to tell you what my cooking would be like without it.

Anyway, I was watching Tyler Florence the other day when I noticed that his mixing bowl was pretty awesome. It was rounded crystal and tapered out from the base. I hadn’t seen one like it before but quickly noticed a few of the other Food Network regulars using the same bowl. That’s when I started wanting one of those cool bowls…Imitation is flattery after all. Wanting one was easy enough but finding this contemporary mixing bowl was harder than I had imagined.

I looked on the Food Network shopping section and didn’t find it. I looked on Amazon and still couldn’t find it. I even looked on EBay! That endeavor resulted in a bunch of bowls that were not what I was looking for. Surprise, surprise!

I immediately saw that I wasn’t the only one who had been searching desperately for this fantastic bowl once I hit Google. Nobody had any real clue where to get the mixing bowl and I was about to give up. That’s when, while sitting at work and doing a little bit of shopping on the KaTom website, I saw it.

The cool mixing bowl I had been searching everywhere for ended up being sold where I worked. You’d be guessing right if you thought I felt kind of silly. It turns out that this awesome bowl is made by Anchor Hocking. If I wasn’t doing the happy dance already when I found the mixing bowl you should have seen me when I figured out that we have a total of 4 different sizes: 1 quart, 2 quart, 3 quart, and 4 quart.

Finally! The Food Network mixing bowl I had been striving for was in my grasp and at a nice price too. Since it was a bit difficult to find I thought I might help out everyone else who had been searching desperately like me and post something about it! No more extensive hunting, thank goodness.
