Restaurants Use Facebook to Raise Brand Awareness

Social media has greatly impacted nearly everything in today’s society, with the restaurant industry being included. Facebook has recently announced an app they call GoRecommend. GoRecommend drives retail location traffic by turning customer experiences into an excellent marketing tool.
GoRecommend works through an automated referral process. When a customer completes a survey about their retail experience, those who have a positive experience are prompted to complete an online recommendation through Facebook. The recommendation appears on both the company’s Facebook fan page and the user’s profile.
Zpizza, a health-conscious pizza chain based out of Laguna Beach, claims to have seen dramatic results because of the use of GoRecommend. Empathica Inc., the creator of GoRecommend, says that this particular company, as well as many others, have “seen an average of more than 5,000 positive brand impressions generated daily” by the recommendation tool.
