Restaurants Offer Freebies!
Our current economic crisis is affecting nearly every aspect of our every day lives, with our food choices being no exception. As we all tighten our purse strings, restaurants are beginning to take notice and are doing their part to help us maintain a wallet-friendly budget. Many restaurants are offering freebies as a way to encourage business and benefit consumers. In today’s economic environment “consumers want…value,” according to Annika Stensson of the National Restaurant Association.
Numerous restaurants throughout the country are stepping up to give out free or reduced priced meals. One of the most notable quick-serve restaurants being Arby’s, which is well-known for their delicious roast beef sandwiches (as well as many other menu items). Each Wednesday, Arby’s offers a free menu item at absolutely no charge when customers purchase the required side item, which is often a drink. Make sure to check out the complete list of free Arby’s items.
During the month of February, McDonald’s also offered a similar promotion, offering Free Fry Days, where customers could receive a free order of french fries. This summer, many McDonald’s restaurants will be offering free samples of the new McCafe specialty coffees. They are even offering a free concert, dubbed the McDonald’s McCafe Urban Soul Lounge, which is a free series of concerts in select cities around the country.
Consumers still have a desire to dine out, but many are basing their choices on the price point of the food, and restaurants are beginning to do their part to keep customer relations growing. Be sure to keep an eye and ear out for special promotions at restaurants near you!
