The Hoshizaki CR3S-HS refrigerator has six 4-inch casters bolted to the base of the cabinet for mobility. Stainless steel is used to construct the cabinet's interior and exterior, resisting corrosion and scratching. Structure of the cabinet is created by the foamed in place polyurethane insulation, which also keeps cold air inside the cabinet. Six solid doors provide access to the three sections of the refrigerator. Each section comes with three epoxy-coated shelves that resist corrosion.

The refrigeration system is mounted on the top of the unit, making it ideal for kitchens that bake often since yeast and flour settle on the floor. The electrocoated evaporator coils resist corrosion and use a hot gas condensate feature that melts built-up ice to ensure the evaporator runs properly. A thermostatic expansion valve releases the exact amount of refrigerant that is needed to remove heat from the interior instead of a constant amount of refrigerant, ensuring the compressor has a long life. The Hoshizaki CR3S-HS refrigerator has a temperature range of 33 to 52 degrees Fahrenheit.
