With the Southbend EZ18-5 4801 countertop convection steamer, steam is conducted with no boiler and electric heat. This unit can hold five pans that are 12 inches by 20 inches. A door interlock switch cuts off the production of steam when the door opens and continues producing steam once the door has been shut. To keep the steamer working as efficiently as possible, it is equipped with a removable steam diffuser plate that keeps debris out of the water reservoir. Cooking with the countertop steamer is simple since it comes with a switch that has timed cooking/constant steam/off, a light that turns on when food is cooking, a light that turns on when food is ready, a light that lets you know when water needs to be refilled, and a timer with an alarm that goes off after 60 minutes of the cooking cycle.
