Designed to allow air space so excess heat and moisture can escape. Silicone buttons grip pan/countertop and run through material which is made with layers of FSC certified paper pressed together with a food safe resin. Eco friendly using recycled paper. Exclusively manufactured in the USA. Epicurean wood products are dishwasher safe, and heat resistant up to 350 F/ 176 C, ( Not Microwave Safe). NSF certified easy to clean and will not harbor bacteria.
