Porcelain Enamel is a glass coating, not lead paint, and is used for a variety of food related purposes, including cookware, pottery and grills. Porcelain Enamel has proven to be a safe and attractive coating for cookware since it was first introduce in the late 1920's.

The transition to prepare meals with Lodge Color: Porcelain Enamel on Cast Iron is easy. So easy, within days of purchase, you'll be crafting culinary classics to rival those of celebrity chefs. And, your tasty recipes will give you bragging rights throughout the neighborhood.

Made to our exact specifications in China, Lodge Color is first coated with black matte enamel and 2 coats of porcelain enamel.
