Just beautiful.

I've never had the joy of using any cooking tool more useful and easy-to-live-with than Lodge's Carbon Steel. It can take virtually any temperature. It can cook anything from tender fried eggs to flaming stir-fry. It can sear steak well enough that I see little need to switch to cast iron for searing beef or pork or any other meat. So glad to have purchased the 12" and the 10". Simply cook often to season, or, occasionally set in the oven with a thin sheen of oil wiped all over it to season it while cooking other things. Chain-mail to clean it = no damage to the seasoning, no scratching possible, results in a beautifully maintained kitchen necessity.

Worst pan I've ever owned

I have 2 other carbon steel pans that I purchased and seasoned myself. This pan arrived pre-seasoned (which is not disclosed in the product information), but I trusted the Lodge brand name, as I also have cast iron pans from them that are wonderful. Being pre-seasoned, though, this pan should have been essentially non-stick out of the box. But it wasn't. I tried to make an omelet with this pan and ended up having to settle for scrambled eggs. Cleaning the stuck on eggs was a real chore, too. I hate this pan.

I will tell my friends about KaTom.

The order came in around the time it was supposed to and that's a good thing.

A great pan for making eggs and other food

I love this pan, I have used it for three plus years and it is fantastic. I fry eggs several times a week and they never stick and it is easy to clean. I am putting a ten inch pan on my Christmas list.

Unbeatable Quality for the price

I have been forging custom skillets for over 30 years. For an off the shelf pan, these are as good as it gets.

Like it

Cooks well in the oven baking and on stove eye. long handle doesn't get as hot as cast iron on stove top. not as heavy as cast iron, but it's a hand full. Cleans up easily with hot water and old gift card for a scraper.

This is a great carbon steel skillet

I use the Lodge 12 inch carbon steel skillet for preparing family meals nightly. This pan cleans up easy and reacts quickly to temperature changes with my gas range.

as good as carbon steel can be

One must understand how cast iron and carbon steel work before claiming they're bad quality. Lodge makes quality carbon steel and cast iron second to none.

Fantastic Pan!

These are fantastic pans! Can't say enough good things about them. I purchased the 8 and 10" and am now going for the 12". They are sturdy, VERY well seasoned by Lodge and are a delight to cook with. I've made everything from omelets, oven roasted salmon (skin on),to saute steaks and everything turned out great with NO sticking! I plan to give all my old "non-stick" pans away. Unlike those, these don't warp or have their chemical coating peal off!! LOVE these pans! My only complaint is they haven't made a 14" pan yet!

Not what I hoped for

Haven't used this pan as much as the smaller 1, but I had hoped that evn tho they are cast iron I had hoped they would be better and not having the food stick to them and create such a mess to clean them. I hae oiled these pans before and after I cook and they are incredibly hard to get the food off.

See my review of the 12

I wanted a small skillet to make eggs with cheese and green onions in the morning for breakfast, ! that I could flip the ingredients over as they were frying. My hopes were dashed the first time I used it and the process has not gotten better over time and lot of oil both before and after cooking.
