Because of its 6-gallon working capacity, the Vulcan K6DTT countertop steam kettle can prepare (192) 4-ounce portions at a time. Resistant to rust, the interior is made of 304 and 316 series stainless steel, so all kinds of foods can be cooked inside, even salty and acidic dishes. Measurement markings in gallons and liters are embossed on the interior, helping employees monitor the amount of contents.

When turned on, steam moves from a connected boiler, through the right leg, and into the kettle's jacket—a hollow space between the kettle's interior and exterior. This steam jacket distributes heat evenly across the lower two-thirds of kettle and ensures food cooks uniformly. Because this Vulcan K6DTT tilting steam kettle is too heavy to lift, it comes with a tilting mechanism. Using the handle, employees can tilt the kettle and pour food into separate containers for serving. Its butterfly-shaped lip pours items with minimal sloshing, while the rounded bottom prevents product from getting stuck.
