Groen HY-6SM Description
The Groen HY-6SM HyPlus™ floor-model steamer efficiently cooks food without stripping it of nutrients and ruining its color. In two compartments, it holds a total of six 12-inch by 20-inch by 2 1⁄2-inch pans. An external steam source is required for this unit’s direct steam operation, and this can be done with a building's boiler or a steam generator. Because the steam comes in contact with food, it should be clean and free of caustic cleaners that may be used in boilers. Blowers are integrated into the side of the cavities, efficiently moving steam throughout the interiors and between pans.
Doors on this Groen HY-6SM direct steam steamer are made of heavy-duty stainless steel and can be field reversed to fit into different kitchen layouts. If a door is opened, the unit automatically shuts off steam flow and blowers while the controls include a power on/off switch and 60-minute timer. Operators can use the continuous steam setting and forgo the timer for certain recipes.
