The Scotsman N0422A-1A Prodigy Plus® is an ice machine head that can make up to 420 pounds of ice per day and is compatible with several bins and dispensers. This model creates nugget ice, the popular 'chewable' ice that is popular in both restaurants and healthcare, using air-cooled refrigeration and R-404A refrigerant. This type of ice uses up to 50 percent less water than cube ice due to the nuggets' less dense makeup, contributing to this machine's water efficiency. Several key internal parts make use of AgION® antimicrobial to help prevent the growth of bacteria.

The Prodigy Plus line is made to be easy to maintain and service, with LED AutoAlert&trade lights alerting users to when cleaning or service is needed. The air intake is located on the front of the unit for optimal airflow, which means the air filter is easy to access for regular cleaning. Each ice machine is shipped with its own unique QR code, which can link the user to service manuals, parts lists, and warranty information. The front panel is easy to remove to make service simple. This panel is also self-aligning to be sure that the panel is installed correctly after service is completed.
